The TD Summer Reading Club is Canada's biggest, bilingual summer reading program for kids of all ages, interests and abilities. The Club celebrates Canadian authors, illustrators and stories, and inspires kids to explore the fun of reading their way.
Kids can read whatever they'd like throughout the summer and earn virtual badges, vote in the Battle of the Books, post reviews, write stories, read and write jokes, participate in weekly trivia, watch author/illustrator readings and workshops and more. Studies show that kids who keep reading all summer do better when they return to school in the fall. The TD Summer Reading Club is a great way to build excitement about reading.
How it works
Phone or email the library to sign up for the Club and arrange a time to pick up your child's reading kit. Your child will receive a free notebook and stickers to track their reading.
Read for fun! Have your child read what they enjoy and try some of our recommended reads by borrowing some of the titles available at the library.
Visit tdsummerreadingclub.ca often so that your child can share what they're reading, earn virtual badges and participate in more fun reading activities.
The first 15 participants to register will receive a book bag with extra goodies in addition to their notebook and stickers. Notebooks come in Accessible, Prereaders, and Readers so all kids can be included. The library has a variety of prizes to give out as kids participate in the program over the summer.
