An opening has come up on the Hastings Highlands Public Library Board. To be on a public library board in Ontario you must be:
a Canadian citizen
a resident of the Municipality of Hastings Highlands
at least 18 years of age
not employed by the Hastings Highlands Public Library or the Municipality of Hastings Highlands
not be convicted of an indictable offense
Consideration for the following qualities would be an asset:
Firm connections and affiliations with the community
Prepared to devote an average of 3 to 6 hours per month
Conviction that the Hastings Highlands Public Library is uniquely important to the life of the community
Ability to approach problems and people with an open mind
Ability and eagerness to deal with values, vision, and the long-term mission of the library
Committed to fiscally responsible management
Possess initiative and courage to plan creatively an carry out plans effectively.
The Hastings Highlands Public Library Board holds a minimum of 7 meetings per year. The Board term is concurrent with the Municipal council term of 4 years, which ends on November 14th, 2022.
