Provincial Shutdown & Library Services

The Hastings Highlands Public Library will be closed for the holidays from Thursday, December 24th at 2pm until Monday, January 4th at 11am. When we return on January 4th, we will be closed to the public per the Province-Wide Shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however we are still able to offer contactless curbside pickup services outside of the building.

At this time, the current Provincial Shutdown for Southern Ontario is intended to be lifted on Saturday, January 23rd, 2021. If the Provincial Shutdown is not extended at this time, the library will be able to open to the public on Monday, January 25th.

We ask that those using our pickup services continue to wear face coverings when picking up their library materials. We also ask that you deposit any and all returns of library materials directly in the regular library dropbox on the side of the building (not the municipal dropbox bin located at the front door). All library visitors will be recorded by staff and contact information may be required if we do not already have it on file, per the Provincial Shutdown requirements. Library materials will continue to be quarantined for a period of 72 hours, with quarantine times logged by staff. Library materials may still show up on your account until this period has passed, but any fines accumulated as a result of this quarantine period will be waived.

Have a safe and happy holiday, and we hope to see you all soon!
